I did my first TV interview today! Ok: it was like my third interview EVER, and only my second on Blackmail, My Love -- yikes! Its a blur now, but fortunately the producer and everyone on the set told me enthusiastically that it went really well, so Im feeling good about it. Up just before me was John OHurley, who played Elaines boss on Steinfeld (almost fired her under suspicion of an opium addiction after shed eaten a poppy seed muffin....). He plays the lawyer Billy Flynn in Chicago, which is opening in SF today. The host, Frank Mallicoat, was great -- he knows how to put an interviewee at ease, started asking me questions before the camera started rolling so there was no terrifying heart-stopping tongue-freezing MOMENT WHEN IT BEGAN -- we just flowed right into the interview. I was also hugely fortunate to meet the wonderful Alan Kaufman, writer, poet, and gentle soul, who was interviewed after me.
