I didnt think I was going to speak out about this, and I don’t - TopicsExpress

I didnt think I was going to speak out about this, and I don’t really care if anyone listens but I have been hearing some unfortunate reactions to what happened on Wednesday October 22nd in Ottawa. We truly owe our lives to those who protect our country. It is heartbreaking, and very frightening for all Canadians to even comprehend what happened and the innocent lives we lost. After any crime there is a backlash of individuals who blame without knowledge, because they want justice. I do understand this effect, and it is difficult to feel validated when we feel like there has been no justice served. In relation, there has been some misconceptions of shaming a religion and all of its followers for what has happened, and I feel it’s necessary to say the following.. There are extremists in every religion, but there are also peaceful and loving followers. We should not vandalize their temples, name call them in the streets, and harass all of them just because we think they are all alike. They are NOT. I understand that sometimes it’s hard to stand outside the box and try to get to know others and their religion, for fear of whats happened in the past, but you can TRY. Instead of shaming all who follow a certain path, you can quickly separate a mentally unwell person from a loving individual, regardless of their religion. You can stop war with peace - and show others love and acceptance instead of judging by their appearance, or faith. It may seem strange to some if you show your religion in everyday life, by choice of attire or worship schedule, but to them they are normal individuals devoted to their own god, and living a life of peace. There are some who may take any context too far with their sacred scripts and reading too far into concepts – as every religion does, and has in the past. Things you should know – every religion has spilt blood in the name of their god, and this has happened for billions of centuries, because of extremists taking it too far, of fear of losing power, of fearful solidarity, of mental instability. Countless reasons to why some just take any context way too far. It will happen as long as there is people who blame others in the name of their religion as well! We do not have to shame all who follow a certain path. It is not right or acceptable to make those who are amazing individuals feel unwelcome in Canada. Try to see them a human being, and seeing beyond their attire or language of choice. Do not shame others because of another’s action. We can help them win their battle inside and possibly change any course of action by caring. I do believe we are the most respectable, loving, accepting and diverse country for a reason. We can change the course of action for any person if we believe in unity, acceptance and love. #canadastrong
