I dislike Roy for his stupidity; but I am still gonna donate a small amount to him as well just to send a message to the PM that it is unbecoming of him to crush an ordinary citizen even after he had removed that offending post, published an apology, and offered damages (in the sum of $5000). When you donate $5 to the Ah Ma selling tissue, you are helping one Ah Mah for a day. When you donate $5 to Roy, you will be helping a million Ah Mah in the future because you are showing that you do not fear the government and the government should fear you instead. This is the future we want for Singapore. A government that fears its people. Do we want a leader who sues political opponents and citizens alike? If citizens cant comment about our own country policies, how different is that from North Korea? If a leader feels he is being wronged, cant he speak up, provide facts and prove otherwise? That will earn more respect and votes than suing the pants off citizens. If we continue to keep quiet and let our countrymen get struck down 1 by 1, Im afraid there might not be anything left to defend when we finally wake up.
