I do not like the image that is portrayed of Filmmakers. For some reason Filmmakers are always portrayed as sloppy technical geeks that dont care about their appearance. With the exception of Martin Scorsese you always see Filmmakers look grungy and broke. I dont understand that. So when someone that looks like me say I am a Filmmaker people look at me like Im making it up or I dont "really" make films. Even Spike Lee is a little on the dingy side. You can be a rapper and look however you want. Look at Jay-z, Gucci Mane and Lil B. Who would ever think they all share the same occupation. I think im going to start issuing a dress code for Filmmakers. Brioni suits, navy blue double breasted over coats with gold buttons and Luey loafers will have to be staples in the closet. Tired of people making my occupation look dingy. Not cool at all.
