I do not post personal matters on Facebook, I dont think it is the place for it. However, I am hoping that if I reach out to the community, some folks may be able to reach back. At approximately 8:15 - 8:30 pm, someone drove by our house and gunned down our family dog, Tobey. They fired 5 shots from a .40 cal handgun, and fled the scene. We called the Lee County Sheriffs office and filed a report with an officer. Soon after the officer left, the shooter(s) returned to the scene, to cover their tracks I assume. I was able to record this brief video before they sped off. We live in Shannon MS, out in the county. We assume this is a local person, as we live on county back roads and only local folks know there way around these roads. I have all the spent bullet casings, including a whole bullet that must have jammed in the chamber and was cleared and dropped from vehicle. The truck was moving when the shots were fired, and fired from Driver side, as the bullet casings were sporadically found in middle of the road in a span of about 20 ft. Tobey was found on the left hand side of road across from where bullet casings were located. Tobey was in a full dog harness, bright red color, and was clearly not a stray dog. He meant the entire world to us, and any information leading to the arrest to whomever did this is appreciated. We are going to file criminal charges if we are able . Here is what information I have: 2014 Espresso Black Nissan Titan 4 door model Chrome Wheels Chrome door handles and tailgate handle Aftermarket Exhaust very audible Possible tinted windows The photos I have were lifted from the video and enhanced as best I could.
