I do not recall what started the conversation, but Jackson and I were reminiscing about this moment the other day. We had a good laugh, and I have always chuckled when I look at this first picture. During our cruise, Santa gave us an early Christmas gift which was a chance to see dolphins and then take a trip out to a sandbar covered in sting rays. We convinced Maureen to get in the water, but she swore she would not get near one. When one would come by, she would look, but if it got too close, she would scream and jump on my back. (I kindly requested that she hang onto my shoulders and not around my neck!) There were several photographers who make money selling overpriced pictures of you holding a giant ray that a wrangler managed to snag for you. We couldnt pass it up, but I wanted us all to be in the photograph. Jackson was too little to hold the strong ray, so I agreed. As you can see, Maureen is not touching the ray but is clinging to Jackson for dear life. I knew how scared she was, but it just warms my heart that she smiled for the picture. Even though she was too apprehensive to touch the sting rays, she enjoyed the entire experience impressed with it all. Try new things. Smile through it. Enjoy the ride.
