I do not understand the drama and all the ugliness between Campbell County and Anderson County. These are kids playing a game! One team will win and one team will lose. Thats how it works and it seems that the players/students are okay with that. This crazy hatred seems to come from the adullts. Whats even more absurd is that the ones that like to be so nasty towards CC are people that graduated from, live in or (my personal favorite) work in CC. Not trying to put down AC people at all as Im sure there has been some pretty stupid stuff come out of some of the CC folks mouths. This is just my opinion on the things I have read recently. The silly tshirt designs, the ridiculous slogan #FFW (Forfeit For What referring to the LaFollette/Norris game), saying that CC kids dont pray (perhaps its done in the locker room since it isnt done for appearance purposes), saying CC should spend the money on dental clinics instead of athletics (last time I checked there are drug problems in every county), calling people from CC white trash. I mean, come on...this kind of stuff being said is over sports??? I have friends/family that live in AC and friends/family that have gone to or are currently attending school in AC. These people have never said a negative word because they are intelligent enough to know how ridiculous it is and how hurtful it can be. These games should be about the kids and putting them down because of the school they attend is just wrong. All of these kids work so hard to be the best that they can be and should be able to feel good about that. I am extremely proud of Campbell County for winning last night, but at the same time I hate it for Anderson County because those kids wanted to win and worked hard to get where they are. I also hate it for all the middle school teams (including Norris) for having to end the season without a championship game. There are a lot of talented young people on ALL of these teams its just a shame that a few people like to ruin it.
