I do not usually believe in hate. Not true hate. (As opposed to the casual way we use the word to mean strongly dislike.) However, I really do hate drunk driving. Especially when one person can kill 2 and injure 23 in mere seconds after having ploughed through a pedestrian barrier at SXSW. The driver survived apparently unscathed. That is what drunk driving can do, that is why it is illegal and that is why I hate it as an action. 26+ lives changed in an instant (was there a passenger?) and their families hurting too. If only the drunk drivers got hurt, Id say it was just a dumb hazardous sport. But when you can harm so many people so quickly, how dare anyone think it is OK to risk it rather than call for a ride?
