I do post a lot on Twitter. I find it to be easy to jot down a quick thought even though its degrading language one tweet at a time due to the character limit. I no ppl r gonna rite like dis tho n soon but must this exposition be expedited, exponentially, by the use of social media webs. Social Media (to include texting) has already taken much of the humanity and sentiment out of what is written; therefore what was initially thought worthy to write down, by the very nature of its electric posting, no matter how erudite it may be, has lost the majority of its Soul. The irony that I write this as a Facebook posting has not escaped me. Nor the people break up with other people by simply not answering the phone or writing a break up text message or email, that while distasteful has become quite a normal within society. Now, Im not a Luddite in any sense, I believe the technology that can link one person to another person across the world is something good and must be pursued however in its pursuit – – that is where the difference comes. That is where the privatization comes from that makes the world flat and one can reach another or it keeps the world flat but cut off from each other by thinking an email is the same as real mail and that Skype is the same as seeing someone in the flesh. This technology is built to enhance the latter not to replace it. Even the 1st degree of separation in a handwritten letter, there is a certain special feeling when you hold in your hand the paper and pen marks sent from another. To read a letter written by another--handling the same paper as they, seeing the strokes of their pen and words chosen to write to you that are in hope to be kept. Still a substitute for that person saying them in person but like a video call or phone call not that bad a substitute for that persons physical form nonetheless. But it seems the teeming throngs of people have economically voted and prefer IMs and Emails to the correspondence of reading a letter... and people ask me why I dont have a girlfriend or a wife lol
