I dont do shots, no matter how many people are buying them for me. - TopicsExpress

I dont do shots, no matter how many people are buying them for me. However, today I am having half shot of the fire water that my mom got for my daughter for her 21st birthday, otherwise known as Woodford Reserve Bourbon (my moms favorite). I have had one sip, and my throat still burns. Im pretty stressed, so thought I might try it. Just got back from my daughters appointment. I think we have more questions now than we did before the visit. They are questioning the Wolff-Parkinson-White diagnosis given two years ago, instead believing it to be sinus nodal reentrant tachycardia. Both conditions mean that an extra electrical pathway is present and must be ablated, as it is causing her heart rhythm to go haywire. Ali underwent this procedure two years ago; however, it appears that some of it was missed the first time around. We were told it was not life threatening unless it lasted for two days or more, which is what landed her in the ER two years ago (three days of it, meds not helping, maneuvers not helping, and the meds given in the ER for cardioversion werent even helping). I was crying tears of relief, but also of uncertainty. I dont want to see that happen again, and of course, neither does Ali. Ali will have an event recorder placed for 30 days to capture this rhythm, so they can be more definitive with a diagnosis. It looks like another ablation is in the near future, to the tune of $60,000. She is very symptomatic, so we feel that several events will be recorded, which is a good thing. I guess. I cant imagine how difficult this is for my daughter, waiting to see if her heart is going to take off again. We remain positive though :) We like Dr. Mitra. He has an excellent reputation and is a good guy. Just very confused by not pinning down the diagnosis two years out. More news after the monitoring. And so we wait... Thank you all for your positive energy, thoughts and prayers. I know that so many of you do care about my daughters health, and Im so appreciative and touched by it
