I dont ever involve myself in these sorts of things, and I am sure - TopicsExpress

I dont ever involve myself in these sorts of things, and I am sure many will be upset with what I have to say on it, but I can not allow the misinterpretation of science and the Theory of Evolution. Keep in mind that a Theory, in scientific terms, has significant enough evidence to be accepted by the scientific community and supported by it. Evolution is also a very complex idea and is not always limited to the change of a species to a different one, but that isnt something I will dabble in as of now. In this picture, it gives the sense that we are directly descended from apes; that they as a whole began to change over time and developed the characteristics that we have. This is only partly true. The evolution of the human is still under study, because we as a societal whole have not found large amounts of intermediate species types. This often goes for other evolutionary species as well, simply due to the fact that preservation of any kind of organic material is a very tricky business, and sometimes wont ever be easy to find. Think of it this way; take the environments that apes are found. Should you go out and comb a relatively large area, how many bones and fossil remains would you be more likely to find of that particular ape? Depending on luck, maybe only a few. Extend this to the amount of time that has been determined to be between the various lineages that would be our sister species and how conditions have to be just right for organic material of any kind to be preserved, and you now have a very difficult task. Also understand that water levels may also play a role. If any fossil remains were washed into rivers and/or the sea, we would be less likely to find it, and the organic material would, more than likely, be recycled by various organisms in the environment. (i.e. no more bones and material) One other thing, there are well over millions of Homo sapiens and Chimpanzees, who are endangered and we share nearly 99.5% of our genome with, have roughly up to 300,000 individuals on this planet. This kind of photo is blatantly misleading and it disappoints me.
