I dont feel television is the cause of ADD in children. It takes a lot of concentrated effort to understand and follow characters in an action cartoon, or social one. It may be that the neglect that such children are experiencing, by the fact they are in front of the television, while parents work hard, rather than give full attention to the children, being satisfied with as much money that can actually be earned thus, such an approach may yield a different kind of child mentality. Rather than being overtly distracted, a mirror for those parents who are distracted by the world, from the possibility of love at home, they might become a source of attention, to inspire parents how to love them more... However, I wonder if parents who are yet distracted by the cold, lifeless world that rages outside, might ever recognize the meaning of such an attention from their own children... Yet, will those children grow to concentrate better? If civil servants, proponents of education programmes see themselves as giving parental attention, out of love & affection alone, to care for new generations, perhaps the entire concept of ADD will be changed, as new windows to concentration may open as a result of broadening of mind & intergeneration communication. As the future lies for new discoveries in technology & education, and social change, as a result of exploration of human consciousness & psychology, the gap between the generation clash of minds, and the opening of new, fresh, truly progressive channels of communication, may be the gap between the current curriculum and the one that is about to be discovered by those who sincerely & actively seek it, with their free, unbounded enterpreneurship.
