I dont generally attack the messenger, but this is pretty ridiculous. He does the usual reductionist arithmetic that one usually associates with politicians: N hours of class x K classes + P office-hours = number of hours worked. (Over half way down, theres an admission that they might do a little more than that, but it is dismissed as incredible that it could contribute anything significant.) How, I wondered, could a former college leader be so clueless about faculty life? Though there is some indication of curriculum development (For 30 degrees? Really? All by himself?), theres little indication hes actually sat in a professors chair and understood where the time goes.
