I dont get to many games any longer because of family commitments at home; 1-year old daughter, wifes 9-months pregnant, fighting crime in Gotham.... the usual. But I got to the Well for the second time this season last night, and as Im spectating from my seat in the lower bowl, I had forgotten what a privilege it was to watch Giroux and Voracek. These two guys are galaxies in front of any other player in Orange. Voracek can dominate, literally, from anywhere on the pond with the puck on his stick. He had four Senators festooned on him in the slot, and he can still make the pass out to the point. We take that for granted sometimes, but he makes it look so easy. Giroux anticipates plays like hes got his ear to the ground listening for buffalo. Watching him play without the puck and position himself was a pleasure, especially since you dont get that opportunity much watching on television. I loved watching hockey AWAY from hockey, if that makes sense. Just thought Id share that this morning. MD
