I dont judge people if I see them smack their kids (within reason), because I think its so challenging to be a parent. I am going to try very hard though to not be a parent who smacks their kids. My older brother and I were smacked whenever we misbehaved, but my younger siblings were not smacked even nearly as much. (probably because my parents were younger and we were their first kids) I dont think smacking actually improved our behaviour compared with my siblings behaviour - I just dont think its very effective in teaching children to behave better. I am more a believer in positive reinforcement of good behaviour and withholding certain pleasures for a period of time when theres bad behaviour. I also hope that I have the patience and ability to properly explain things to my children. Anyway this is an interesting infograph.
