I dont know about Chicago, but meats in Philly are so expensive...I try to keep my budget for groceries around $400-$450 a month for my family of five...which 4 are males, so they can eat! But meat prices are ridiculous here! For the last 2 months I have been getting my meats from a meat market, the first time we got a package that is $109, it has steaks, beef stew meat, chicken (breasts, wings, thighs, and quarters), turkey (chops, wings), ground beef, no pork, and a deli meat package and a $69( pork chops, chicken chops, hotdogs, etc.) package, This time, we got just the $109 package, but we still had a freezer full of meat from last month. I break down the meat in portions for dinner, and I must say, I am impressed, my freezer is stocked, and at the end of the month Im not running out of meat. How many of you do a Meat Market vs. the Grocery Store for your meat?
