I dont know anyone more committed to honoring our fallen - TopicsExpress

I dont know anyone more committed to honoring our fallen military heroes than Edmonds artist Mike Reagan. Every day is Memorial Day for Mike. He gets up at 4 a.m. to draw the portraits of military members killed serving their country. He sends them to their families free of charge. It takes 4 hours to draw one, and that doesnt count the time Mike researches each one through pictures and emails. Mike is a Vietnam vet and a renowned portrait artist. Why does he do it? He does it to bring families love and healing. Mike has drawn more than 3,600 portraits to date. He says its his calling. The portrait you see below is Mikes friend, Vinny, who died in his arms in Vietnam. His last words were, I just want to go home, Mike. Last month, Vinny did. Mike gave the portrait to Vinnys nephew at a dinner to mark the 10th anniversary of the Fallen Heroes Project. Tonight on KING 5 News, our John Sharify will bring you the emotional night and a look at this remarkable man, Mike Reagan. To find out more about Mikes work, heres a link. fallenheroesproject.org.
