I dont know how to express what I feel about this whole issue regarding the recent street based mistreatment of women in Nairobi and Mombasa. To begin with, I abhor aggression, violence and unjust treatment of other humans. Society too has an eagle eye and claws, however, mob justice and selective victimization is satanic. We should advocate for acceptable societal values but be sensitive to accommodate behavioral diversity, so long as it is played within the confines of basic decency and code of conduct. A just society has rules, regulations and laws to create order, and in which all live by it. If there is infringement of any sort, it must be rectified through the processes and procedures stipulated therein. The actions taken against the two ladies in Nairobi and Mombasa was an unfortunate criminal act, and the perpetrators must be held to account. Lawlessness and primitive acts of this nature must never be condoned in any reasonable society, and it should never be in Kenya.
