I dont know if there is any easy way to share this. Even most people who know me best have no idea. I have kept it in so long that there were times I didnt think I would ever tell anyone. I have known since 1991. The way the golden helmets were gleaming in the sun, interrupted only by the perfection of the small feather laced arrow and smaller arrows earned for big plays started a spark that even wide right couldnt put out. 14 consecutive top 5 finishes in the AP poll during my formative years made it easy to look past the programs scandals and love this team every Saturday (except a very memorable October day in 1993 of course). When coaching at Dick Howser stadium it took every ounce of self control not to join the 6,000 plus in the tomahawk chop when the organ blared the war chant during a rally. It feels so nice to get this off my chest and it is time the world knows: I am a raging closet Florida State fan. And today I get to fulfill a lifelong bucket list goal and watch Chief Osceala ride in to Doak Campbell Stadium on his Appaloosa horse Renegade and slam his flaming spear into the 50 yard line to start an FSU football game! If I saw em play ten times I would be cheering for them nine. If we played em ten times. they might win nine. BUT NOT THIS GAME. NOT TONIGHT. TONIGHT WE RUN WITH THEM. TONIGHT WE HIT WITH THEM AND WE SHUT THEM DOWN BECAUSE WE CAN! TONIGHT, WE ARE THE GREATEST FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE LAND! Tallahassee Bound. LETS GO IRISH!!!
