I dont know if weve done this before but how did everyone get started? I started completely by accident. I was apprenticed under a jewelry maker who was (politely described as) a jerk. One day his son came over to borrow a piece of equipment and he convinced me to follow him back to his shop where he was forging a sword. I never went back to the jewelry shop. Even left my favorite stool at my workbench and never looked back. Funny thing is my first day at the blacksmith shop I burnt through a sword that was nearly finished. Looking back I remember thinking how pretty to steel was as it burnt. Its been a long road but enjoyed almost every minute of it.
