I dont know which part to type first. If i type i dont support what israel is doing but... it says one thing. If I type I dont support the Hamas terror but... it says something else. I bought my own Koran. I figured i couldnt afford not to read something so many people are so hot and bothered about. I didnt get all the way through. I did get far enough to read that muslims are called upon to kill anyone that refuses to be like them. The Jews....humpf. 6 million jews were killed in the holocaust. To me, if my ancestors that been extirimated like Jews were, I would feel identity and solidairty with all people oppressed everywhere...after all, another 6 million people were extirimated by Pol Pot (wasnt that Cambodia?) It disappoints me that more Jews dont feel like that, though there are Jews that do. Anyhow... what the Jews are famous (or infamous) for is the rather docile way they got on the trains to the death camps. In moderm times, many Jews say Never again!. Actually, I agree with that....not specifically, but generally.... I dont believe in being docile. I believe in resistance. In the evolution of the collective self, it is natural and understandable that much of Jewry would have the point of view that it has. It you were a pit bull kept in a cage for a very long time and tormented and tormented, what would you do if you managed to get loose and discovered that you were really very strong? Its a mess there. Innocent people are dying. Genocide against the Palestinian people is wrong. But it is understandable...particularly in the face of a culture that embraces There can be only one (I.e., Islam. Straight up: i dont like Islam) Its not helpful for the rest of us to pick a side. For myself, what i feel i must to is to continue to call out wrongdoing by both sides and to reiterate that violence is evil. I will say only this more... Hegel, in Phenomenology of Mind, expresses the belief that, with regard to the master-slave relationship, it is the slave to whom the next stage of the dialectic belongs. Theres lots of different ways to interpret that....so each of us has a lot to think about.
