I dont know which show this is from but its true. Hes right. The people who are keeping us from being the greatest country in the world are the ones who are voted into office at the moment and from the past 30 years. Not Democrats or Republicans...all of them as a whole. There have been a few stand-outs who are working to make us great again. However the thing that is hurting out country the most is the extreme partisanship that is driven by either ignorance in general or ignorance of the world outside of ones household or by intolerance of another culture. I get a lot of grief about the last part because Im told some people dont conform to our (American) culture. My question is What culture is that? American culture would technically be Native American right? But in our society what culture is really American? All of us who are not Native American came here from other cultures and we brought that with us. Im Scottish, German, French and who knows what else but I dont practice Scottish customs, or German. The prejudice (Im not talking racial) of others has to stop. The intolerance is killing our country. The Big I, Little You practices have to stop. Also, much of our societys fall from greatness has to do with big businesses squeezing out smaller business all while thinking that the only measure of financial greatness is from Wall Street. Too many people have made Wall Street a religion and they worship money. Everyone needs money but not to the extent our culture has incorporated it into our everyday life.
