I dont normally watch movies about skateboarding (there actually are quite a few), but back in 2001 I read so many great reviews of a film called Dogtown and Z-Boys that I just had to go out and see it. And thats how I know about Jay Adams, who died on Aug 14 at the age of 53. He was the craziest and most fearless member of the Southern California skateboarding pioneers (early 70s) known as the Zephyrs. One summer during a drought, home owners in L.A. were forbidden to fill their swimming pools. Jay and his pals would go around looking for empty pools to skate in. This is a really fun film. Sadly, Jay Adams was a very troubled man. https://youtube/watch?v=C78BQFDq6hM
