I dont put in very many ICE complaints but you sure as hell can - TopicsExpress

I dont put in very many ICE complaints but you sure as hell can bet your last dollar that I will be doing one as soon as Andrew falls sleep. I am SOOOO beyond effing pissed at the clinic (not the clinic as a whole but my sons PCM). I called last week to schedule his 4yr check up (which included four different shots). His appointment was at 0900; we arrived at 0840; did not get called back until almost 0920 (after going up to the front desk to verify that I had the right time in mind); did the whole triage routine; waited another 15-20mins for the doc to show up; 15-20 mins for his checkup; waited another 15-20 mins for the nurse to come with Andrews shots only to have him stick his head in and tell me its going to be ANOTHER 10-15 because he is attending a walk-in (WTFO! I HAVE AN APPT ASSWIPE....was going thru my head); finally comes back to tell me that he has to go double check Andrews shot list in the file vs the standard yellow CDC card that you are required to bring for shots; doesnt come back until 1045 to give my son his shots. Needless to say that by then Andrew has become drowsy because of the stress of the initial exam, wanting to go home, getting hungry etc. IT IS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR THAT A WALK-IN (UNLESS A LIFE THREATENING TRAUMA....which shouldnt be going to the clinic but to the ER because our clinic is not equipped to handle trauma) TAKE PRECEDENT AND FIRST ROW SEATING OVER A PATIENT THAT FOLLOWED PROCEDURE AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMNET; much less make a 4yr old who is aware of what a doctor is wait for almost two hours for shots!!! So, I guess from now on Im just gonna walk in and henceforth screw up someone elses day the way that whoever couldnt pick up the damn phone set my bad day into motion! Thank you, seriously, I really appreciated having to continually basically lie to my son telling him that wed be going home soon. Lying to kids, especially ones that are being stressed out because of the situation, is soo much fun! Ohh, and, when we finally get let go, I went to the front desk asking to talk to someone in charge and come to find out (shaking the entire time I was talking to her) that similar situations have been reported to her and she does not agree with walk-ins getting priority (unless traumatic) over scheduled patients. Im still shaking!
