I dont really care what others are charging or offering. I try to - TopicsExpress

I dont really care what others are charging or offering. I try to stay in my lane and offer what I feel works for my clients. I know I am outside the budget of some and that is okay. However, when you say I am too expensive, I find this offensive. Because you are saying I am not worth what I charge. Yes, I am running a business and try not to take things personal. Sometimes, its hard. Because it is MY business. I have poured my heart and soul into MY business. I am responsible for answering emails, marketing myself, calculating costs, purchases, taxes, and actually photographing and editing for my clients. And, thats just scratching the surface. I work 60 plus hours a week. Most nights, I dont get to bed until 2 and am up again at 6 to get my kids ready for school. I spend thousands...THOUSANDS of dollars a year on equipment, supplies, further education, etc. I shouldnt have to explain to anyone why I charge what I do, but lately it seems people have something negative to say about photographers in my area who charge more than $100. We dont pull numbers out of the air. We calculate what we need to make per session to pay bills, pay taxes, maintain equipment, and feed our families. Believe me, most of us dont charge enough. Please stop telling photographers that they cost too much. We dont come to your work and tell your boss he/she pays you too much. Its not fair for you to do it to us.
