I dont see any reason so convincing, disputing the fact that Aregbe is a man of people. He is indeed an epitome of honour and embodiment of decisive and democratic government. To start from physical infrastructures and social courtesy, Ogbeni can be said to have braved many roads. This is beyond poster propaganda and political manipulation. Go to Osun bear the witness. I am not saying he does not have his flaws as politician, considering the present Nigerian situation with its political ambience. But notwithstanding, Rauf has displayed pragmaticality and proactiveness in his government as the governor of Osun over the last four years without letting religious difference tame the tandem of his admnistration. And I believe having people like him in the political realm of this nation, there is still hope that the fate of Nigeria as nation already relegated to the fringe of a failed state, will soon be rescued from the front tooth of political chimeras and jaguars. Without doubt, I am not a political lasarus looking up to crumbles of bread falling off masters table; I am not a partisan beclouded by chronic syndrome of partisanship. But as a public observer, I think Ogbeni has performed up to the expectation of good democracy despite the odds and waywardness of Nigerias leadership. The endorsement of Aregbe by many members of PDP like Tambuwal is a clear manifestation that Osun has got one messiah. And if the governor-elect in Ekiti could have publicly confirmed and affirmed Aregbes bravura and political tactics, coupled with unmatched intelligence and expereience he has transparently engineered into the Land of Omoluabi, there is no indication that Osun people would kill their conscience and vote a well-known political gladiator and tyrant to steer the boat of their state to the promised land of barreness. Now, as the collation of the result still goes on, the electoral statistics seems to have echoed clearly that Osun has decided their fate for another phase of political progress. I sit here on the minaret of memory evoking the spirit of Awolowos Action Group, and drawing the portrait of Ogbeni beside his mentor Obafemi Jeremiah Awolowo. I sit here counting one by one the coming of victory we have been expecting. May Aregbe carry the stardom of the day. Let freedom ring from Osogboland let freedom ring from the pinnacle of progress Let freedom ring from the Land of Virtue May thousand flowers blossom as they declare him the winner once again.
