I dont talk about it often at all, but Robin Williams has done something for me that I cant say about many other people. Mr. Williams roles as John Keating in Dead Poets Society and Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting have been undoubtedly the most influential performances on my life and the most inspirational representations which evoked in me a great sense of hope in my darkest hours. What many of you at home know and what few of you in California have been told is that I have lived the vast majority of recent years from a bed, kept there by the conditions which have afflicted me for years. I can say with complete confidence that without Robin Williams appearances as the characters such as those mentioned, I would likely never have gotten out of bed, I would likely never have taken the initiative to seize every day, and I would never have even dreamed of being where I am nor about where I plan to go. I would say that I am very sad to hear about his untimely passing, but Im afraid it would do his work a great injustice. I am morose, O Captain, my Captain. May you rest with the peace that you have always craved so ardently. Rest in Peace, O Captain! My Captain!
