On a more serious note, I just read an article on the late Joe Nuxhall. If he were living, hed be 86 years old tomorrow. The Ol Lefthander exemplified everything that was right about the Reds. No matter how good or bad they were performing, Joe was always optimistically rooting for his beloved Reds. I remember tuning in to the game on the radio only to listen to Marty and Joe (many times when the games were televised, I would mute the tv). It took me back to my favorite time of life when I had my grandfather still with me as he instilled the love of the Reds in me when I was very young. He would stop working around the house if it were a day game and I can still hear him say, son, the game is getting ready to come on. Nothing quite like sitting on the porch with Papaw whom I idolized listening to my other idol whom I never met. No one whom ever played for or worked for the Reds could ever hold a candle to The Ol Lefthander. I hope Papaw has now got to meet you. :)
