I dont think this song gets enough credit for being original. Heres why. (And I feel like Ive posted this before, so my apologies if so.) Almost every songwriter, band, etc, has at least one song that falls into the category describe the person you like. As in, LIKE like. Those songs usually spend the bulk of their time talking about two categories of items: - things the person has no control over. This includes beautiful eyes, smile, body, situation in life such as where they are from or who their parents are. - ways the singer feels about the person. Im guilty of this myself - I tend to spend way too much time on that. This is the only describe the person you like song Ive ever encountered where the object of the singers affections is described ONLY in terms of things she decided to do. She wore the skirt and jacket, shes the author of her uninterrupted prosperity, she polished all the facets of her diamond mind. I frigging wish I could write a song that has that kind of clear focus.
