Just a quick reminder that the next Parent Council meeting takes - TopicsExpress

Just a quick reminder that the next Parent Council meeting takes place on Wednesday 20 November at 7pm in the school library. If you have anything that you would like to put on the Agenda please could you let me know by Sunday 10 November and I will include it. Also just to let you know that I attended a Parent Council chairs meeting last week and would pass on the following information: - PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT The Parental Involvement Officer would like to know how to best engage with parents and carers in the wider Parent Forum. Last year this was done via 2 meetings, one in Oldmeldrum and one in Fraserburgh - to which parent and carers from across Aberdeenshire were invited. This was successful and she would like to know what you would like to take place next year. For example, is this the sort of thing you would like again (format was information stands, speakers and workshops - with lunch thrown in too); if so how frequently would you like this to take place; if not, can you suggest something else which they could try? Deadline for responses is 15th November and you can either email me your responses for collating and passing on, or you can email the parental Involvement officer at [email protected] CURRICULUM FOR EXCELLENCE FAQ SHEET Re the Curriculum for Excellence FAQ sheet which was circulated recently (and links to this are shown on the Parent Council page on the TGS website as well as on our Facebook page). Aberdeenshire Council would like your feedback on this document by the 15th November 2013. Feedback can either be sent to me for collating and passing on, or you can email the parental Involvement officer at [email protected] We were also asked to tell parents about the parent pages on the Aberdeenshire Council website aberdeenshire.gov.uk/parentscarers/parents/FeedbackFromParentEvents.asp where there is a published response to questions previously raised at parent events. All parents are welcome to raise questions, not just on Curriculum for Excellence, to be added to this rolling list of questions. Publishing the responses in a central location makes them accessible to current and prospective parents, and for those parents who do not have internet access there is free access through Aberdeenshires library facilities, or paper copies can be provided. As and when more questions are asked (not covered in either the FAQ sheet mentioned above or in the National Parent Forum Scotland (NPFS) FAQ sheet) these will be added to the website (as outlined in the paragraph above). Hopefully this will lead to a comprehensive list of FAQs and will improve understanding of what is taking place across Aberdeenshire. Again, just to ask that if you have anything you would like added to the Agenda please could you let me know by Sunday 10 November. I look forward to seeing you at the PC meeting. Thank you Fiona Alderson Chairman, TGS Parent Council
