I dont understand how one school in the entire district gets a HUGE grant and gets all of these special benefits while all of the other schools suffer greatly! One school in our district got a multi million dollar grant.....so they get ipads and extra teachers they will have a ton more resources to help the children...which is incredible! However this school in particular is not the only school in our district that is suffering! All of the elementary schools in our district are suffering! Isaac had 30 kids in his kindergarten class last year and the district wanted his teacher to spend a few hours EVERY MORNING paying attention to only a portion of the class in a reading group while the rest of the 5 YEAR OLDS were expected to know how to do their work all by themselves and get sometimes 5-6 worksheets done without a teacher looking after them! But give one of the brand new schools that was just built in 2009 a large grant! UGH I am so frustrated! I seriously wish I could just homeschool my kids....I hate sending them to school...I feel like our district (not the principal at Isaacs school but the higher ups I guess) dont really give a crap! They want more work and less play...my 5 year old got 20 minutes of recess a day last year...when the weather was bad they had indoor recess but if my 5 YEAR OLD didnt get done with his work in the morning when he was not being supervised as I stated above he had to miss recess and do work.......which means that most days my 5 YEAR OLD SON didnt even get recess at all!!!! why cant the grant be split between all of the schools so that my son has a smaller class size so that his teacher can pay a little more attention to him and actually help him......I hate this...I AM SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW!!!! I cant switch his schools AGAIN because the district has to pick and choose between which school they want to support that year! I hate feeling like my kids are not getting the education that they deserve and there is NOTHING that I can do about it.........I want to scream right now! #notfair #whataboutmykids #pissedoffparent!
