I dont understand why the authorities are so bent on imposing this 75% attendance issue on everything ! Yes it is a practice to ensure more regulation in the system but at the same time one cannot ignore the flaws in this: 1. Doesnt consider the fact that a student can find sm subjects less interesting than others and is happy just to get a passing grade in that so that he can devote more time to subjects of his interest. 2. Doesnt consider the fact that a student might be facing difficulty in understanding the lecture (due to language problems or whatever reasons) and can do much better studying on the internet or consulting good books. 3. Final year students have a lot of extra stuff going on, projects, placements, preparations for GATE, CAT, etc etc 4. Students who are working for the college through Gymkhana, T&P, Gyansagar, Alumni Cell, projects etc. have to miss classes in order to get their works done in time. Isnt it justified to have some relaxation in such genuine cases ?? (not just medical cases!!) I mean if a student is able to pass the exam without even attending a single class, is that his flaw or credit ??!!!
