I dont usually dedicate much time in sharing my personal opinions in Facebook, but today I am shocked, and I want to share my point of view with all of you.......................................................First of all, this guy is mentally ill, no doubt about it, but why did he behaved like this? Well, the first step in solving a problem is recognizing there is one, and its not the beloved right to bear arms. The answer is indeed hidden behind the American society, where the cool kid stereotype is the fearless and emotionless guy which therefore is incapable of open his heart to friends and family. It has to be understood the fact that without sentimental communication every single person closes itself and its feelings on its own little world. And when people are not capable of listening to others feeling things like this happen. Elliot Rodger killed 7 people not only because he was a freak and had easy access to guns, but mainly because he felt he wasnt understood by other people. It scares me to know that in 22 years of his life, no one was able to access his feelings, not his family, not his friends, not us. Somehow I feel responsible for what happened, because even though I never got the chance to meet this person I know I could have helped him, I could have PREVENTED all this. In synthesis we all have to change, materialism is nowadays distracting people, it is very important to be attached to feelings, emotions and sentiments more than we are attached to cars, clothes and watches. The suggestion I can give to all of you now is to start understanding how important it is to let other people access your heart, in order for them to let you access theirs. Nothing can justify Elliots behavior, and I am really sorry for all the families and friends that this guy decided to involve in the accident. May all of your souls rest in peace!
