I dont usually post stuff of opinion on here but tonight I need to. So, as many of you know, I submitted three of my photos to the Newport Parks and Recreation first Fall Festival Photo contest. With having one category as Peoples Choice I honestly feel, in my heart, that ALL places should of been voted by the public, NOT other local photographers. I feel that can create conflict of interest. I also heard that when some individuals had mentioned my photographs as being well in need of being recognized, one judge said I HATE THAT WOMEN! Okay, first of all, this proves my point. Conflict of interest. Second, being a photographer herself, that is EXTREMELY unprofessional of her to say when judging a PUBLIC contest. I admit, I am competitive with my photography. It comes from a HUGE LOVE AND PASSION deep within my soul! Its been my therapy going through an traumatic childhood, an abusive relationship, AND CANCER! AND I admit, I STILL have a LOT to learn and my style is a LOT different from other photographers. However, I LEARN from my fellow photographers, and even if I dislike them personally or their work, I would NEVER vocally, in a professional photography event, criticize or show impartiality to another photographer. So, with that being said, I feel better voicing my opinion and have forwarded my feelings to the sponsor of the contest. And without further ado, I will publicize my photos again because I am VERY proud of them and I truly feel that they genuinely mirror the Northeast Kingdom that I am proud to live in!
