I don’t believe stores should be open on Thanksgiving, but last - TopicsExpress

I don’t believe stores should be open on Thanksgiving, but last night at about 10:00, I saw that Best Buy was selling iPads for $100 off. I wrestled with my conscience and my conscience lost. I became one of THOSE people. I drove to the nearest Best Buy with my expectations set low. It was possible they ran out hours earlier. I also decided I was in no mood for a long line. Good news all around. First, I found a parking space, second, although the store was crowded, I got help pretty quickly from a clerk named Dominick, and third, the store had a black iPad in stock. (There was no way I was getting a gold one—I’m not a bling kinda guy) I’m happy to report that Dominick just moved here from Philadelphia, so he had no plans for Thanksgiving. It may not be rational, but that made me feel a lot better. I hope he got overtime. My new iPad is amazing. It weighs less than a pound—that really makes a big difference. At first I thought I had a mini because the tablet is smaller, but that’s because they trimmed the bezel. The screen size is the same. So I’m home today—no shopping for me. I’m not going to be one of those sheeple rushing to the store on Black Friday. Not me. No, instead I celebrated the end of a holiday meant for family and friends at a Best Buy. Yes, I’m embarrassed, but I saved $100 on my iPad, so I’ll get over it.
