I don’t usually play these games but here goes after a friend insisted. 8 Things you may not know or care to know about me: 1. My mother bought me my first rifle when I was between 10 and 12 years old-a single shot .22 which I still have today. Now that loving act would probably be considered some kind of crime. My how times have changed since I was young! She also taught me to be responsible for everything I do and to always tell the truth which seems to be missing with children today. 2. I worked in the test facility that developed the orbital maneuvering system for the Space Shuttle. As a technician in the test facility I got to spot weld thermocouples on the prototype rocket motors, monitor the electronics, watch them tested/blown up, and held the final flight model in my hands before it was tested. 3. I worked in a government photo lab and wanted to be a photographer’s mate in the Navy-they made me an aviation electronics technician instead. I never cared much about electronics but it helped me get my first job when I got out. I have held a security clearance for most of my working life and worked in electronics. 4. I joined the Navy when I got my draft notice on the day the North Koreans captured the Navy ship Pueblo. 5. I dont swim well. Swimming is like a survival exercise for me but I was good enough to pass the Navy aircrew school. I am afraid of heights but love to fly..go figure. I have a hard time in the water but love boating and the beach..again go figure. 6. I have 3 brothers who live in New Mexico. I was born in El Paso, Texas and we moved to Fairacres, NM when I was 3. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles have all passed away-part of growing old. 7. I am a Christian but not good at that, many faults. I dont attend church regularly because I dont believe in the big business, kind of stuffy atmosphere they have now. My grandfather made me go as a child every Sunday. I attended in the Navy but I dont today. I read the Bible and pray. I believe in it. I love a lot of people and believe I am loved as well. 8. My wife and I owned 2 restaurants at different times a long time ago. I am still trying to master cooking which is one of my favorite things to do-not even a good apprentice at this point. I also owned a business selling and repairing computers back when it was possible to do that-yes I know it was when dinosaurs walked the earth too…:)
