I don’t usually post on facebook ….I usually just “like” But today is different ….on Monday my usual response to how was your weekend …would be “wonderful” or great Well today I had to reflect a little when asked that question My weekend was different ….and so are the lives of several families …..Saturday Sam and I attended two memorials…. The first was for Mary Reilley Rankin …Mary was one of the first people we met when we moved to Hilton Head …She was a Mom to two beautiful daughters and a wife to a husband who cared for her Mary was sick for a long time but her family took care of her and loved her deeply …and she will be missed by many of us as she touched so many lives through the years ……. The second memorial was for Alex Colleran …his wife worked with Sam when we first got to Hilton Head …He was a Dad to two sons and was loved by his wife and family ….both of these families woke up this morning with a void in their lives …Mary’s daughters are without a Mom but will have so many wonderful memories and will definitely live out their lives with Mary in their hearts ….Alex’s sons will be without a Dad but will definitely follow in his footsteps with what he taught them about life and love. ……listening to two daughters remembering their Mom and two sons remembering their Dad on Saturday just made me realize again how fragile and precious life really is. I am sending out a virtual hug and a lot of love to all of you and I wish I could reach out and hug each of my “DUCKS’ today……Enjoy every second because in a flash it could be gone…..
