I drove home from Indianapolis today, and after a few hours I got tired of music. I decided to utilize the options afforded me by Sirius radio to listen to what talk radio had to say about our current state of political affairs. I listened to both right and left viewpoints for an hour apiece and have come to this conclusion: we are poisoning ourselves by allowing this kind of hate fuel into our minds. Listening to people who agree with you tell you that people with a different opinion are at best slobbering imbeciles, at worst beings of pure malevolent energy, is not helpful. Its harmful. Until we can treat other viewpoints as worthwhile, we are going to continue to elect people who think, and hate, like us. And cannot accomplish anything. Oh, and were all totally boned.
