I enjoy reading about genetic anthropology, particularly, the study of human development, migration and diversity through the mapping of human genes. So often it seems that we all can go back to a common ancestor. Either through mitochondrial inheritance (through the female) or Y chromosome inheritance (through the male) there is that one human being that stood alone at the beginning of an immense flow chart of millions of descendents. Did the human race begin 60,000 years ago in a single family somewhere in Africa? It seems that more and more genetic anthropology is pointing to something like that. Some Adam and Eve in the dawn of Mankind. It boggles the mind.... but then the mind loves to be boggled. Of course, one wonders where that African Adam and Eve came from. Where they the end result of another immense flowing chart of descendents and ancestors? Or...... well, I wonder......
