I enjoyed The Roosevelts. Ken Burns latest documentary, I learned - TopicsExpress

I enjoyed The Roosevelts. Ken Burns latest documentary, I learned a great deal and it was a great pleasure to have something to watch for a week. HOWEVER; while Mr. Burns paid great tribute to Eleanor Roosevelts devotion to Civil Rights in America, (unless I dozed off) he failed to tell the famous (infamous?) Marion Anderson story. When the Philadelphia Daughters of the American Revolution withdrew an invitation for Americas most famous contralto to sing at Constitution Hall because she was black, Mrs. Roosevelt, after resigning from the DAR, arranged for Mrs. Anderson to sing before 70,000 people on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
