I enjoyed the Twitter feed @KU_WWI yesterday, recounting in many voices the events of that fateful day 100 years ago. They were humorous -- I know some people thought this inappropriate -- and even the dog and the car played a role. @luckystift1911 This describes the project and gives the background of some of the tweeters. kuwwi/ The project gave a clear picture of the day, the incompetence of the assassins, who succeeded almost by accident; the confusion of the law enforcement contingent; the dedication of the Archduke to his wife, which is partly why he went to Sarajevo, anyway, to show her off, and most of all, the commitment of the assassins to a free Serbia. They werent fanatical anarchists who wanted to destroy society, they carried their hearts in their hands. Who could know that those few bullets would kill millions of people.
