I feel compelled to air my views on on the going insecurity in Kenya. Many Kenyans have expressed optimism on exit of Kimaiyo and Ole lenku but I hold divergent opinion as this optimism is shortlived. First, we must interrogate the cause ,identify the intended mischief and finally take a resolve to get the root cause.First the insecurity we are experiencing is politically instigated with an aim to create fear in Kenyans, make Kenyans loose faith in jubilee government and finally depending on extent of public fear, either impeach the president or try to access power through unorthodox means. We must as Kenyans urge the office of DPP to investigate the conduct of Cord leaders who used Kajwangs burial as a platform of negative ethnicity. Two,the government must boost security in all major towns especially in Nairobi as these dare devils might be using diversionary tactics so that they might attack the city without the knowledge of security machinery. Three we must understand that right from counties, the security machinery is a divided lot with two distinct chains of command. At sub county level we have the OCPD who is in charge of regular police and DAPC who is in charge of AP. There is no clear line of command as to who holds the final word on force organisation and when a security lapse occurs, the blame game takes toll. This is where alshabaabs andtake advantage of our disorganised force. Me thinks that the OCPD should be charged with this responsibility. Last but not least its the high time the qualifications and disqualifications of police and armed forces recruits is reorganised. During the infamous 2014 police recruitment drive, a young man with a mean grade of B plain was disqualified in favour of one with a D plus..more so the teeth arrangement was checked as if they were going for biting/smiling competition, the colour was sometimes checked.........,............we lost the security battle during recruitment....We need more intelligent officers who are well paid and not just the physical strength we need police officers who are bloodhounds not just watchdogs or criminal chasers.MY TAKE!!!
