I feel inspired to write this. Due to my contact with several comments and posts by my followers on Google plus, gplusid/NigeriaWeServe, I have discovered that what we Nigerians like doing, is always refusing to realise the veracity of the fact that, we are responsible for the problems Nigeria is facing today. We are so quick to apportion blame to our leaders and government, regardless of the fact that we were the ones who installed them in government and handed power over to them. We are so quick to say how, our leaders are doing nothing for this nation, and are so corrupt, but refusing to accept the fact that we are worse than even them, because in our homes and offices, we try to embezzle funds, lie to our parents so we can make some money off them, especially students, we inflate prices and sell goods double the price in the market, we do virtually everything we accuse our leaders of, except the only notable difference that is idiosyncratic to our leaders is that, they just happen to be in bigger positions, think bigger and do bigger. I may not be the perfect person to tell us this, but the only way Nigeria can change, is if we realise the change must begin from me, not you. Lets learn to accept responsibilities, both right and wrong. Instead of figuring out beautifully stylish and artistic ways of interposing words to blame our leaders, rather dedicate that skill, enthusiasm, and gusto towards trying to do things for Nigeria or encourage other Nigerians to follow suit and do things for the country. John Fitzgerald Kennedy in his inaugural address at the Capitol hill in 1961, wasnt wrong when he instigated Americans to think of what they can do for America, not what America can do for them. Nigeria has got the resources, the manpower, and the necessary prerequisite to revolutionise and metamorphose our nation into a state of near perfection in a way that will bring admiration, all we need is hat momentum, driving force or synonymously, the motivation to bring to actualisation all our conceptualisations of a perfect Nigeria. Start with yourself by doing the right thing for Nigeria, move to your family, friends and work groups, then you can heighten the change locomotion to the entire public. If you dont change yourself, Im sorry but Nigeria will deteriorate, whilst we keep looking for the next leader to hold responsible for our countrys misfortunes and misdeeds. Fact is, No matter who we call to help us, it only takes Nigerians to change Nigeria. Just accept the truth that In our triumph, victory and success, and in our sorrow, grief and bewilderment, I AM THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT RESULT, NOT YOU, NOT ANYONE ELSE, BUT ME.
