Looking for a Technical Animator for a 3D animated dark comedy. We’re a small group of Artist and Animators looking for a Technical Animators with experience designing and simulating cloth, hair, fur, skin and muscle for character rigs to help us on our short film entitled ‘Another Tomorrow. It’s about a village of people willingly sacrificing themselves to a relentless monster, until one day a child refuses and jeopardizes the livelihood of everyone in the village. Our ideal candidate has a balance of artistic sensibilities, technical savvy and has good problem-solving skills. Were looking for someone who will work with our character rigger in adding all necessary dynamics for our characters. It’s a plus if the Technical Animator knows Python or Mel to develop for the character dynamics. You will be expected to give technical direction to our Character Modeler, Character Designer, Character Rigger and Character Animators throughout the film to ensure smooth transitions for our character animations. Along with being tech savy, our Technical Animator would be social and able to contribute in private critiques and discussions about others work. You must also be open-minded to critiques on your own work. We’re not looking for anyone that will get offended about their work after a harsh critique or not willing to make changes as needed. Extensive knowledge of anatomy, rigging, dynamics, kinematics, and physical behaviors are needed. It is a requirement that all applicants know how to design the furs/hair dynamics using Shave and a Haircut for Maya only. Those who already own Shave and a Haircut for Maya will have stronger consideration for the position. If you do not use Maya and have never worked on hair/fur design with Shave and a Haircut, please do not apply. Please send your demoreels to amedin20@gmail, addressed to Antonio A. Medina. Subject line – Technical Animator. Those without a demoreel will not be considered. Upon being chosen, we will have you sign a NDA. Please let us know your flat rate fee per Character that includes all the above to work with our character rigs and character animations of our characters to be set up smoothly for out lighting team with instructional guidance. Please know that before applying, we are all working on a trailer of the film including myself voluntarily to be funded though Kickstarter, so Character Dynamic setups done for the trailer will be voluntarily. Here is a good example of Monster and human characters that you will be dealing with - youtube/watch?v=z_hXbiAB1lc. As for expectations, you can see a good idea from Joshua Cogswell demoreel (Disclaimer: Joshua Cogswell does not work with us and his reel is only shown as a a example of expected work) at vimeo/70320306. Once our trailer is completed to my stories envision, we will estimate your asking price per Character Models needed into our asking budget for Kickstarter. We have a strong team of Artist that are very dedicated in seeing this to the end. As for myself, I am currently working in the field as a Art Director for mobile tablet Games and a Character Artist. The trailer of the film is a rough 40-50 second trailer. You can visit our fanpage and twitter for the film at:https://facebook/AnotherTomorrowMovie, https://twitter/anothertomorow.
