I feel it is my duty on this fine day to mention a few thoughts - TopicsExpress

I feel it is my duty on this fine day to mention a few thoughts about The Onion Router and the Deep Web. The Onion Router (TOR) is a cloud constructed of volunteer nodes across the planet. It was developed for the military originally, but has been released to the public. It serves to confuse attempts made at tracing IP addresses thereby protecting the users identity. But TOR nodes are hosted by volunteers. Anyone can host a TOR node. You can go download XAMPP or Ubuntu Server and volunteer today, even if you are an FBI agent. And if you know other TOR volunteers, you can communicate with them and analyze traffic, eventually learning a great deal about the node structure and possibly tracing some signals all the way from the destination back to the source. A little game theory goes a long way, especially when the game is being played by military intelligence contractors and federal agencies. So, realize the TOR does not make it impossible to steal ones identity or otherwise invade ones privacy, only difficult.
