I feel led to share some of the testimonies in my book "The day the Preacher was silenced" I pray that this one would bless you as u read. From pages 53-55. The day God healed my wife The 30th of May 1986 was a significant date for me, since it was my wife’s birthday and I was at home preparing a romantic candlelight dinner for her as part of our celebration. She had left home to take her father to church, so I was eagerly expecting her return. However, while she was driving along the careenage in Bridgetown, on her way back home, a van struck the rear of our car. She being pregnant with our last son at the time immediately feared for the baby’s safety. She was about seven months pregnant when the accident occurred, so we were extremely concerned when the baby went into shock, and did not move for quite a while. Thank God, we later found out that that was only an initial response, but the baby was fine. As a result of the accident, I took her to Dr. Kwasi Ametewee, one of Barbados’ leading Orthopaedic surgeons, who indicated that she had sustained a very bad whiplash which was swollen and painful. After being examined by him, her neck was placed in a brace and she was told that she would have to wear it for at least six weeks. My heart hurt every time I saw her carrying her ‘load’ and the brace around her neck. She also said it was extremely painful and uncomfortable and I wanted to see her healed with all my heart. One night after returning from a Crusade, at which I had ministered, she met me at the door as usual. However, it was far from a normal night for me, - I was feeling “oozy, oozy” or “tipsy, tipsy” – under the influence of the anointing power of the Holy Spirit. This was as a result of what could only be described as a glorious night in the presence of the Lord. While embracing her, the Holy Spirit told me to let that same anointing power pass through my wife’s neck. I am sure that He had in mind the scripture found in Isaiah 10:27 “….and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing” and I wholeheartedly agreed with Him. I told her, “Honey let me pass some of this anointing through your neck.” I held her for a few minutes with my hand around her neck and asked God to let His anointing power destroy the yoke and heal her. That was two weeks after Dr. Ametewee placed the “yoke” on her neck, did I say yoke? I meant brace. As soon as I removed my hand from around her neck, the brace became loosed as the swelling disappeared and she discovered that she was totally healed by the power of God. She returned to Dr. Ametewee and he confirmed that she was definitely healed. He was totally dumb-founded since he could not deny that something out of the ordinary had happened. It was nothing less than the healing power of God. It is now more than twenty-six years ago, and there have been no repercussions since then. Oh, Praise His Holy Name.
