I feel like I know Chicago more than most people, even more than most people who were born and raised there. It is simple, easy to navigate easy to learn its secrets. Chicago wears its heart on its sleeve. I spent my whole life there, tried to experience everything there and even when I try I cant find something to surprise me. Although I cannot claim to have explored very thoroughly, I feel that other cities felt the same way, from Hamburg to Hong Kong, New York to Tokyo, they all seem easy to get to know. However, at this point, I believe I might have spent more time exploring and have walked a greater distance through the streets of Taipei than my own hometown of Chicago... and yet I feel like I barely know her (they are house roughly the same amount of people). This city is more mysterious and more filled with riddles and secrets and nightmares and beauty than I ever could have imagined... If there is a city on this planet that had more layers and more secrets and more complexities than this one, I am sure it would cause me to lose my mind. The more I learn about Taipei, the less I feel I know.
