I feel like I tell my kids to hang on, wait a minute a lot... so when my four year old tells me to do the same, I do my best, (within reason) to also wait. For example, last night, she was doing a drawing at the table, but the little one and I were going to bed. I said, Come on Margo, were going to bed. She said, Hang on a sec, Im finishing this drawing. So, the little one and I went into the bedroom and Margo came bouncing in five minutes later to snuggle up beside me. I like to give her as many opportunities of autonomy as I can give her :)
