I feel like one could craft a compelling apologetic for the existence of God based on the existence of coffee. Coffee is truly a microcosm of the natural world, as any third-wave connoisseur would tell you. Should the world be made by a creator with affinities for certain flavors, is it any wonder that the taste of blueberries or strawberries, chocolate or nuts emerges in a coffee that has been neither modified nor grown in similar soil as these diverse flavors? I wonder if, perhaps, there has been left in coffee traces of a Perelandrian fruit, an impression of a pre-fall gift left to be discerned by those who carefully use coffee to attune themselves to the diversity of the created world. Im sure the naysayers will contend that this is purely speculative, and that the associations between coffee and fruits are purely the results of suggestion or psychological conditioning. Such is modern perversity, whose aimless blade of scientific classification serves but to rob wonderment of her soul and splay her into an impoverished taxonomy.
