I feel that I need to say more about this stone at the base of Glastonbury tor.....For locals we would call this the first bench. These marks were not made by Victorian Surveyors, they had better tools available and why spend time marking a stone that is not at the top of the hill which would have been the point they would have used in their surveying. The Stone is natural, ancient and has obviously been there for a considerable amount of time. I would estimate that two thirds of it are buried in the soil. Above the 3 rays or lines is a hollow dot, missing from ancient texts, but important I feel. This to me obviously represents the Sun. The lines become wider and deeper towards the bottom ending in a curved depression. Reminds me of a mark that could be made onto clay with a finger. I have more that I would like to say but think enough already.
